Midview High School (1980-82)
Track and field
1982: Second place finish in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 9:13.9 at the Class AAA (Division I) state meet. Won the Elyria District for both the 3,200 (9:26.54) and the 1,600 (4:19.65) in meet-record time. Lange went on to win the Amherst Regional for the 3,200 in a time of 9:19.2.
1981: Lange was a Class AAA regional qualifier for the 3,200 as he placed fourth at the Elyria District (9:52.02) to advance to the Kent Roosevelt.
1981-82: Three-time Lakeland Conference track champion. Twice in the 3,200 (1981 and ’82) and once in the 1,600 (1982).
Still holds the school record for both the 1,600 (4:17) and 3,200 (9:13.9), both set in 1982.
Cross country
1981: Lange finish third place finish at Class AAA (now Division I) state meet to earn All-Ohio (top 25) in Columbus at Ohio State with a time of 12:13 for 2.5 miles. Lange earlier was fifth of nine individual qualifiers at the Elyria Sectional (now known as districts) with a time of 13:26. He was seventh out of 16 individual qualifiers in 13:01.2 at the Akron District (now known as regionals).
1980: 43rd place finish at Class AAA state meet. Earlier he was seventh of 12 individual qualifiers at the Elyria Sectional. He was 22nd of 27 individual qualifiers at the Akron District with a time of 13:29.2.

Lange ran two seasons of varsity cross country and one of varsity track. Earned a varsity letter for cross country
