University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) Track and Field (1998-01)
Received a scholarship to become a member of the University of Mississippi men’s indoor and outdoor track and field team.
1999: Member of the fourth place 4x400m-relay team at the 1999 NCAA Indoor Track and Field championships.
Ranked No. 5 on the all-time list for the 600-meter dash indoors at Ole Miss

Track and field
1997: Midwest Meet of Champions winner as a member of Team Ohio’s 4×400. He also competed in the 400 meters.
1997: Finished second at the Division I state meet for the 400 meters in a career-record time of 47.92 behind Bedford senior Chris Chambers (47.19). Fenzel earlier finished fifth at state in the Division I 100 meters in a time of 10.93.
1997: Fenzel won the 400-meter title at the Oak Harbor regional in a time of 48.32. He also finished third in the 100 meters at Oak Harbor in 10.87. He advanced to regionals with wins in both the 400 (48.93) and 100 (11.02) at the Amherst Division I District.
1997: Won the 100- and 400-meter dashes and was second in the 200-meter at the Lorain County Conference meet. Meet MVP.
1997: Tennessee high school track and field outdoor second in 400-meter dash, University of Tennessee. Ohio State indoor 400 champion. University of Cincinnati indoor 400 champion. Kent State indoor 400 champion
1996: Junior Olympics Nationals 8th place 400m dash @Houston, Texas
1996: Placed third at the Division I state meet for the 400 meters in 48.56.
1996: Finished second in the 400 meters at the Oak Harbor regional to Findlay’s John Henkelman in a time of 48.74. He also teamed with Chad Price, Chris Newton and Magnus Vikland for fifth in the 4×400 (3:25.7), just missing a state berth by 0.88 of a second. Fenzel also placed sixth in the 100 meters (11.22). Earlier Fenzel won the 400 meters at the Amherst District in 49.1. He also qualified to regionals with a second in both the 100 (11.09) and 200 (22.48).
1996: Won the 100-, 400- and 200-meter dashes at the Erie Shore Conference meet. Meet MVP.
1996: Ohio Games 400-meter (meet record) and 100-meter champion.
1995: Took fourth at the Division I state meet for the 400 meters in 48.87. A state qualifier as a member of the 4×400.
1995: Won Oak Harbor Regional title for 400 meters over Findlay’s enkelman, 48.4 to 49.15. Also advanced to state as a member of the 4×400 along with Moore, Chad Price and Chris Newton, which placed third (3:24.08). Fenzel was an Amherst Division I District champ for 100 (11.2) and 400 (49.2) plus as a member of the 4×400 with Joshua Moore, Chad Price and Chris Newton (3:25). He also was second in the 200 (22.2).
1995: Erie Shore Conference champion 100 meters (10.51, meet record). He was also ESC champ for 200 and 400, plus as a member of 4×400
1994: Division I state qualifier for 400 meters
1994: Qualified to state by taking third for the 400 meters at the Oak Harbor Regional with a time of 50.59. Placed second in the 400 meters at the Amherst Division I District in a blanket finish with Brunswick’s Cliff Lemp and Elyria’s Rob Woolbright. All three clocked 50.8. Fenzel was also a district champ as a member of the 4×400 with Moore, Price and Kris Boey (3:26.8).

Varsity football (1994-96)
Fenzel was an outstanding performer on the football team and teamed with Chad Price his senior year to give the Middies two 1,000-yard rushers in 1996. He was All-LCCC and all-county as a defensive back and was named Lorain County’s Defensive Back of the Year.
