7-time Division II (then Class AA) All-Ohio for track and field
1980: CLASS AA STATE CHAMPION – 4×400-meter relay – Tammy Marshall, Teresa Nickum, Karen Gomcsak and Karin Endrai, won in a state-record time of 3:59.8 as it defeated Mansfield Malabar (4:01.6).
1980: Marshall, Nickum, Gomcsak and Endrai won Kent district with a time of 4:03.6. The 4×100 relay of Kris Repeta, Colleen Kerg, Gomcsak and Endrai was second in 50.7 to also qualify for state. The same four set a school record earlier in the season (50.3).
1979: CLASS AA STATE RUNNER-UP – 880-yard medley – Sharon Ehrlich, Gomcsak, Endrai, Marshall, 1:49.7. STATE THIRD PLACE – 880-yard relay – Ehrlich, Carol Grant, Gomscak and Marshall), 1:47.5. The Avon girls team finished in a three-way tie for second with Columbus Centennial and Zanesville West Muskingum, each with 22 points. Dayton Jefferson won it with 30.
1979: Won the mile relay at the Field district in 4:00.9. Ehrlich, Gomcsak, Endrai and Marshall won the 880-yard medley relay in 1:50.4. Ehrlich, Grant, Gomcsak and Marshall were second in the 880-yard relay in 1:46.3. Avon defeated Chardon for the team title, 50-41. Earlier, the Avon girls won all three events at the Olmsted Falls sectional, taking the 880-yard medley in 1:53.0, the 880-yard relay in 1:49.5 and the mile relay in 4:12.0. Avon defeated Olmsted Falls for the sectional title, 83-76.
1978: CLASS AA STATE CHAMPION – mile relay – Joyce Oebker, Ehrlich, Gomcsak and Endrai won the state title with state-record time of 4:00.0 as it edged Akron South (4:00.6). STATE RUNNER-UP – 880-yard relay – Ehrlich, Carol Grant, Kris Repeta and Gomcsak), 1:47.5. STATE THIRD PLACE – 880-yard medley relay – Grant, Repeta, Gomcsak and Endrai, 1:49.6. As a team, Avon tied Mansfield Malabar for second with 32 points, finishing behind Youngstown Liberty (34).
1978: Oebker, Ehrlich, Gomcsak and Endrai won the mile relay at the Field district in 4:01.0. The 880-yard relay of Ehrlich, Grant, Repeta and Gomcsak was third in 1:47.2 while the 880-yard medley relay also qualified to state. Avon edged Akron South for the district title, 44-42. Earlier, the Avon girls won both the mile relay (4:05.41) and 880-yard relay (1:47.75) while adding second in the 880-yard medley relay (1:56.26) at the Olmsted Falls sectional where Avon beat out Wellington for the team title, 93-65.5.
1978: Recipient of a proclamation from the mayor of Avon in recognition of outstanding significance and to honor special achievements for setting a state record in the mile relay at state.
1977: STATE SIXTH PLACE – 880-yard relay – Ehrlich, Repeta, Oebker and Gomcsak, 1:47.9. The 880-yard relay of Gomcsak, Ehrlich, Repeta and Sally Higgins also advanced to state but didn’t place.
1977: Ehrlich, Repeta, Oebker and Gomcsak were third for the 880-yard relay at the Kent district with a time of 1:48.5. Gomcsak, Ehrlich, Repeta and Higgins were fourth in the 880-yard medley relay (1:55.1). Earlier, the Avon girls 880-yard medley relay won the Amherst sectional in 1:55.9 and the 880-yard relay was second in 1:50.7. The Eagles also qualified its second place 440-yard relay (52.2) and fourth place mile relay (4:17.4).
