Elyria Catholic High School (1976-1979)
1979: Kozma won the 100-yard dash at the Olmsted Falls Class AA Sectional with a time of 9.8 seconds against Elyria West’s Ray Armstrong with a time of 9.9 seconds, who was the eventual state champion. Kozma also anchored the winning 4×100 relay in a meet-record of 44.7. He pulled his hamstring coming off the turn while in the lead during the 220-yard dash. The injury brought an end to his season.
1979: Kozma placed 1st and Armstrong 2nd at the Lorain County Relays in the 100-yard dash. Kozma’s time was the best in the state for that season at 9.62 seconds, an Elyria Catholic High record. The time was later converted to 10.52 seconds to account for the meter-conversion. It remains the school record.
1979: Kozma was a quadruple winner in the opening dual meet against Olmsted Falls. He won the in the 100-yard (9.8), 440-yard (51.4) and the 220-yard (21.8) dashes, plus anchored the 4×440 relay.
1979: Kozma participated at the renowned Knights of Columbus Indoor meet at the Richfield Coliseum. He placed 2nd in the 60-yard dash (6.57).
1979: Kozma placed second in the 60-yard dash (6.4) at the All-Ohio Indoor Meet at Ohio State.
1978: At the AAU Junior Olympic Nationals in Lincoln, Nebraska, Kozma finished at 3rd place in the 220-yard dash (21.98) and member of 5th place 4×100 relay (42.16)
1978: Won the 100-meter (11.00) and 200-meter (21.70) dashes in the Ohio Track Classic at BGSU
1978: Kozma placed 3rd in the 100-yard dash (10.0 seconds) at the Class AA state meet. He later placed 2nd against Armstrong in the 220-yard dash. Both runners finished the race at 21.6 seconds. The time was later converted to 21.43 seconds to account for the meter-conversion. It remains the school record.
1978: Kozma placed 3rd in the 100-yard dash with a time of 10.1 seconds and 2nd in the 220-yard dash with a time of 22.4 seconds at the Kent Class AA District meet.
1978: Kozma placed 2nd in both the 100-yard dash (10.15) and the 220-yard dash (22.37) at the Class AA Sectional meet.
1978: At the Amherst Comet Relays, Kozma won the 100-yard dash (10.30), just ahead of Armstrong (10.31).
1977: Kozma finished seventh for both the 100-yard (10.1) and 220-yard (22.7) dashes at the Class AA state meet as a sophomore.
1977: Kozma qualified for state as he placed fourth in both the 100-yard (10.1) and 220-yard (22.5) dashes at the Kent Class AA District meet.
1977: Kozma won the 100-yard dash (10.1) at the Elyria Class AA Sectional meet. He was able to edge out well-known athletes of the era, including Greg Jones, Ray Armstrong, and Darrel Thomas. Kozma also won the 220-yard dash with a school-record time of 22.2.
1977: Kozma placed 2nd in the 100-yard dash (10.2) at the Lorain County Relays.
1977: Kozma placed 2nd in the 100-yard dash (10.4) at the Comet Relays.
1977: Kozma set a new school record for Elyria Catholic in the 100-yard dash with a time of 10.0 seconds at the Southview dual meet. The record beat out the time set by Tom Mahl in 1961. Kozma also won the 220-yard dash (22.7).
1976: Kozma placed 4th in the 100-yard dash at the Class AA Sectional meet with a time of 10.3 seconds. He also placed 3rd as a member of the 4 x100 relay. Both races qualified Kozma for the District meet.

Indiana University (1980-1983)
1983 Outdoor season: Kozma placed 3rd place as a part of the 4×100 relay team with a time of 40.75 seconds at the outdoor Big Ten meet.
1983 Outdoor season: The Indiana Invitational was Kozma’s first meet back after missing several weeks due to a strained hamstring. He placed 4th in the 100-meter dash (11.16), 5th in the 200-meter dash (21.88) and was on the winning 4x 100 relay team (40.20). The IU relay just missed the qualifying standard for the NCAA meet.
1983 Outdoor season: Kozma was on the winning 4 x 100 relay at the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio Stadium with a time of 41.10 seconds.
1983 Outdoor season: Kozma took 4th in the 200-yard dash (21.54) and placed 2nd with 4×100 relay (40.82) at the Kansas Relays.
1983 Outdoor season: Kozma competed at The Domino Relays in Florida. The sprint medley relay team won with a time of 3:18.57.
1983 Indoor season: Kozma did not compete at the Big Ten meet due to injuries.
1982 Outdoor season: The 4×100 relay team finished 3rd at the Big Ten meet in 40.76
1982 Indoor season: Kozma placed 4th in the 300-yard dash (31.21) at the Big Ten meet.
1981 Outdoor season: The 4×100 relay team finished 3rd at the Big Ten meet (40.88)
1981 Outdoor season: At the Indiana Intercollegiate Meet, Kozma placed 4th in the 100-yard dash (10.75), placed 1st in 200-yard dash (21.27) and placed 1st on his 4×100 relay team (40.84).
1981 Outdoor season: Split 47.2 for the 4×400 relay which placed 3rd with a time of 3:09.95 at the Dogwood Relays in Tennessee,
1981 Indoor season: Kozma placed 4th in the 300 meters (34.9) at the Big Ten meet.
1981 Indoor season: Kozma won the 60-yard dash (6.36) and was 2nd in the 300-yard dash (31.01) at The Athletics Conference (TAC) Invitational.
1980 Outdoor season: The 4×100 relay team won the Big Ten championship in a time of 40.50
