– Six-time All-Ohio Class AA track athlete
– Class AA state track champ for 100-, 220- and 440-yard dashes, 1979. One of only 12 Ohio high school boys to accomplish this fete in the 102-year history of the meet.
– Class AA state track champ for 220-yard dash and state runner-up for 100 yards, 1978. Finished third as a member of the 880-yard relay.
– Rushed for 1,204 yards in football, lifting Elyria West to a share of the Erie Shore Conference championship, 1978
– Running back for the University of West Virginia, 1979-81
– Elyria Sports Hall of Fame inductee, 1991
– United States Army veteran, 1981-2001. Retired as staff sergeant E-6.
– Desert Storm veteran with combat patch, 1991
