1931. Class B state runner-up for 880-yard relay along with Leroy Fields, Charles Parkhurst and Sam Barnes. Fields (2011) and Parkhurst (2016) are current members of the Lorain County Track Hall of Fame,
1930: Class B state champion for 880-yard relay along with Fields, Parkhurst and Barnes (1:36.5)
1930: Fourth place for 220 yards at Class B state meet
1930 and ’31: Team member of Class B state runner-up teams. Note: Gordon was also a team member of 1932 Class B state championship team in a team photograph. It is unknown why he didn’t run, but it likely was because he turned age 19 prior to the start of track season and no longer age eligible to compete.
