1936-38: All-Ohio in track 11 times. Highest all-time for Lorain County boys, two better than Oberlin’s LeRoy Fields (1930-32)
Member of 1936 Class B state championship team
1936: Class B state champ in the 220-yard dash (22.8) and as a member of the 880-yard relay (1:34.8). He also finished second as a member of the mile relay and fourth in the 100-yard dash.
1938: Class B state champion 880-yard relay (1:32.5) for Oberlin team that finished third. He also finished second in the 220-yard dash and third as a member of the mile relay.
1937: Class B state runner-up as a member of the 880-yard relay. He also finished third in both the 100- and 220-yard dashes as well as the mile relay for Oberlin team that finished third.
